It was very hard for me to break my 40-year-old practice of reporting the news in an objective, non-partisan way. I resisted criticizing politicians or other reporters for quite a while or getting partisan. But as the months went by and the Trump administration told lie after lie without being challenged by the media, I broke my 40-year-old pledge of non-partisanship. The Party                                            #233 by Hank Silverberg  I read with interest this week that there's a new third party being formed in the United States. It's backed by several familiar names from both the Democratic and Republican party, and they are calling it "Forward."  Three political groups have merged to fight what they call "America's increasingly polarized and gridlocked political system." Democrat Andrew Yang, who ran for President in 2020, former Republican New Jersy Governor Christie Todd Whittman, and former Republican Congressman David Jolly are among the group's founders. Terror From Within  By Hank Silverberg What is the biggest threat to our country today?  There are rogue countries like Iran and North Korea trying to get nuclear weapons.  Russia is trying to expand its influence and world power by invading Ukraine and taking control of a major supplier of food for the developing world, while China is trying to use that conflict for its own expanded global influence.   ISIS and Al Queda, though weakened substantially, are still out there and still hate the concept of the United States of America.  Yes, these are all of great concern, and we must keep up our efforts to protect against them.  But the biggest threat to our way of life may be coming from within.  Now, before you read any more be advised I am not a conspiracy theorist, nor do I see the boogie man under everyone's bed.
