Election Debrief                                        #248 By Hank Silverberg   The election is over--for now. We have a few races undecided, so just what the Congressional power shift will eventually be is unclear. One thing we do know, as usual, all the pundits were wrong. There was no "red wave." Democrats did better this year than in any mid-term election in the past 40 years. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has already attributed that to Democratic accomplishments in the last two years, and the general negative attacks from the GOP. There is some truth in that. The Build Back America legislation will move us forward while the abolishment of Roe v Wade and Republican's talk of a nationwide abortion ban will set us backward.  I credit many American voters for seeing that. Americans came out in large numbers and in most cases, saw through all the nasty rhetoric and picked rational, if not always reasonable, people to be our leaders.  (Then again, Georgians re-ele
